Evening all,

i would greatly appreciate some advice on my situation.

Around 8 weeks ago i was squatting in the gym and unfortunately injured my knee. At the time my suspicion was aroused by a audible pop / click in my knee, no pain or discomfort was present but upon sustained walking, later in the day, i was struck by a ice pick type pain which caused me to immediately get the weight off my knee and shout out in pain.

The pain immediately subsides and no continued discomfort is present after the initial short sharp pain when walking. What is also clear, at times, is the feeling of something floating around in the joint, hard to describe but it feels like it gets caught on things and pops out of the way, before finding a place to settle.

I have had a MRI but i not sure anything will come of it as my doctors surgery have said they'll only contact me if something is wrong (very annoying, as the whole reason i went to the DR is because something was wrong!)

So, i guess my question is - would the completely detached piece (assume this is the case as the pain can present anywhere in the knee and i can feel the piece moving) of meniscus show up on a MRI? And if not, what do i do next?

The debris in there is never continually painful but when it 'plays up' it is extremely painful, albeit only for a few seconds. Can it cause more damage to the joint?

any advice would be greatly appreciated

Dan
