Hello! I am a rock climber who was recently advised to try this hanging shoulder roll exercise for scapular mobility (video below). However, I've been told one million times to never do pull ups/chin ups from full extension because it puts undue stress on the shoulder joint. This motion looks like the first step of that progression.
So I am curious if this sort of exercise is dangerous or safe -- and why?
