Middle back pain when arching backwards

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
    Hi!

Last week I spent about 40 hours pulling rope while twisting my spine a bit. During the weekend I had a upper arm pain and shoulder pain that is now gone but everytime I bend backwards with cactus arms while being on a standing position I feel pain in the middle of my back, I can also feel it when I bend forward but just at a very determined angle (I do yoga hence the weird positions ), the pain is pretty much on the column somewhere in the middle. When I try pressing into the back muscles I don't find a place that hurts, it's just when I bend and as soon as I move to another position the pain is gone. I'm hoping it will go away on its own and that it might have been caused by overusing my back but what do you think? And is there anything I can do to strengthen my back.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read this and for having this forum. It is truly amazing.

Re: Middle back pain when arching backwards

Hi Gabriela, you have probably rotated a disc and forced your spine. The pain will probably pass by it's own over time, because the rest of your thoracic spine will compensate. However, it is wise to go and be seen by a physiotherapist especialized in back issues. He can treat your forced disk and prevent future complications.
Let me know how you recover!

Re: Middle back pain when arching backwards

    Hi Catiak,

Thank you very much for your answer, it convinced me of going to the physio. It took him quite a while to identify where the pain was coming from but fortunately it was not from the vertebrae. I pulled a muscle on while pulling and so it was causing pressure on my column. He massaged it for about 20 minutes and well now I just feel pain on that muscle, I hope it heals quick =)

    Thanks a lot again

    Gabriela

Hi, you need to go to a physiotherapist. I also had problems with my back. Without referring to the doctors, I was treated myself, but my back ached anyway. Then friends advised Eden Physiotherapy.I turned to the physiotherapist. After the course of physiotherapy - the pain disappeared.
