Major problem / Symptomatic Areas
Knee - Anterior - Left
Hi all,
I've just had a diagnosis from an orthopaedic that my ACL is ruptured and "complex tearing of the posterior horn and body of the medial meniscus with a mildly displaced peripheral fragment of the medial meniscus at the posteromedial joint margin". Because of work issues, I cannot have the surgery until 12 months later. To avoid further damage/wearing of the cartilage, are there things I need to look out for? My knee doesn't give way when I walk, but should I wear an ACL brace anyway? Will it make any difference?
Also, will I actually know when I start wearing the cartilage? Will I fell pain or see swelling when that occurs?
Any advice appreciated.
