Calf, Achilles - Posterior - Right
Hi, I was warming up at netball 5 days ago. I took a big step forward (walking) and heard a pop from my calf. I felt that someone had thrown something at my leg. I went to A&E and they gave me crutches and booked me in for Physio in 8 days.
Last night, I noticed that the bruising had started to come out at the point of the initial 'pop' and also my ankle. I have gone back to work today. I was wearing a tubigrip all morning but it felt uncomfortable so I've taken it off. My shin now had a long bruise running down it, my ankle feel sore and am also getting some pain higher in the leg above the knee round the back. I don't think I have much swelling.
Is this level of bruising normal? Should I continue to wear the tubigrip, and if so how long for? (Also I am going on a 2 hour flight in 4 days, should I wear the tubigrip for that?) Do I still need to elevate the leg?
Thanks for any advice.
