I've been suffering from chronic forearm pain for close to 2 years now. It started when I was working at a computer one night, during a time when I was doing a lot of rock climbing. It seems to be getting worse over time.
The frustrating part is that the pain moves around. Sometimes my wrist feels tight and I have a pain just above it (on the posterior side). Other times it's up by my elbow, either anterior or posterior (I think these are the classic tennis and golf-elbow spots). Sometimes it's in the middle between my wrist and elbow, either anterior or posterior. Because of this, the doctor I have been seeing is not keen to do surgery since it's unclear where they would operate.
It gets worse when I have to grip or lift anything with that arm, or when I have to do anything requiring fine motor movements (especially moving my thumb). I've had to stop using a mouse with my right hand and can't do much with that arm without pain at this point.
An MRI of my elbow didn't show anything major. I've tried resting it in a wrist brace for a few weeks without improvement. I've been through a couple of rounds of physical therapy. NSAIDs help to manage the pain.
Any suggestions or advice are very welcome.
