    periformis muscle

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
    this goes with the last post I put on here....the muscle I mentioned doesn't start w/ an f,,,,,it's the periformis muscle in the glutes. (I need another anatomy class)

    betcha it's not the muscle that's the problem. you've had no trauma only repetition. id place my bets on it's coming from your back. the pain you feel is referred from your lumbar spine. you need not have any back pain or limitation of movement. this is more like a straw breaking the camel back - or very slightly poor running posture over a period of time irritating a (?) joint giving you the referred pain.

    not even going to try to describe what you stretch / exercise you should be doing, but get you butt down to a physio!!
