Brief Medical History Overview
Please help - groin injury
Hi,
I'll try keep this as short as possible and make it simple by using bulletpoints.
- started running 4/5 mth ago
- developed pains in knees and feet
- had gait analysis to get correct trainers - excessively overpronate
- knee/foot pains corrected but developed severe pain inner mid left leg
- went to see podiatrist - diagnosed tibial fasciitis - caused by flat feet and tilting of pelvis.
-orthotics given and to have follow up appt 6 week later and probably start course of physio.
- gradually use of orthotics as advised for 1st week
- 2nd week started slowly getting back to running again (with orthotics)
- slight discomfort in groin area throughout 2 week of running
- then 9 day ago finished run and had unbearable pain deep inside groin region (felt like womb etc had been ripped out, sorry about vulgar description!!)
- really struggled to walk and had to climb stairs on hands and knees
- doc diagnosed as abductor muscles torn from pelvic bone - prescribed Diclofenac and physio
Anyway to finally get to the point, my physio appt isn't until this friday, it is still a little painful, so just wondering if ....
I should be doing any stretches/exercises for it in the meantime?
Should carry on wearing orthotics?
Is it ok for me to be doing my usual 2 x 40min walk (to and from work) a day, or will this be doing harm?
Any advice would be great thanks
