Kung Fu/Knee Problems? Possibly...
Hi,
I am 23, reasonably fit, weigh around 10 stone (probably slighty more since I last checked) and stand at about 6' 1".
Ok, basically I have been doing choy lee fut (a style of kung fu) for around 2 years, about 3 weeks ago during training we were working on our stances for strengthening our legs and general fitness. We stay in these stances until we are told to move, and during the particular stance we were doing.. (like below, except back straight)

...as usual my knee starts to glow and feel hot. Now this has happened before, but it became really intense. At the end I felt very pushed, but not as if I had damaged my knee.
The next session a day later, I noticed my knee feeling slight week, uncomfortable, but not painful. The next week I went in and decided to give it a rest, because I dont want to damage my knee, as it still feels a bit week and uncomfortable, and I dont want to think that I am damaging it. It feels like it is the ligament/tendon? running up the front of my shin and over the top of knee that has been affected.
Obviously being the weight I am and height, I do not have a lot of muscle protecting my knee. It is definately feeling better now, but are there any suggestions for some exercise that can help me out. What should I do?
Thank you so much for any response, I love kung fu so much, I really don't want to cause a lifetime of pain...
