Im hoping someone can help.

3 days ago, I went over on the outside of my ankle. This was extemely painful, but I was able to weight bear with considerable discomfort right away.

I went to A & E and it was discovered I had broken the end off my Fibula.. known as a Avulsion Fracture I believe.

NOw the docs have been awful and have told me nothing!!! I have come across a lot of contradictions online.

Initially they put my leg in plaster to the knee. The next day I went back and they changed this plaster to a hard cast which fits up both sides of my leg and is bandaged on top. This can be removed for bathing etc.

The doctor also gave me a sheet with physio exercises but did not advise when to do these. Having read various accounts online since, I am unsure when I should commence these exercises.

The only info I recieved was in answer to questions I asked... Should I bear weight? Only if its comfortable I was told. Can I drive in the next 4 weeks? No! I was told!

I am back in 4 weeks so they can look at it again, but what is going on?

Have I ruptured ligaments as it seems from reading online is the case? Or is it just a small break and will heal fine.

How long til I can drive/walk on it? Should I be exercising now?

I am using crutches and can bear a tiny amount of weight right now with the crutches but a lot of this may be to do with nervousness as I dont know what I should be doing!

Any advice or help?
