    Brief Medical History Overview

    Rib Contusion

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
I got a rib fracture/contusion end of June this year playing rugby... I stayed away from rugby (even touch rugby) for all of July and August... I was overseas in September... so no rugby then either. Since being back I twisted my ankle in my 2nd training session then played a 7s tournament (2 weeks ago)... but had to go to doctor when foot ballooned and I swear I haven't played any rugby since.

For some strange reason my breast has suddenly started hurting in the same place I had the rib contusion/fracture.

When I went to the gyno end of August she did a breast exam and got worried when she felt my breast until I explained I had cracked my rib playing rugby... then she mellowed and said that must be what she was feeling... But now we are in October and for some strange reason my breast is hurting again. I get a sharp pain if I tense my core body (like if I was doing my business in the bathroom). It doesn't hurt when my body is relaxed.

I've put on a bit of weight from being away from training so long... and I thought it could be related to this... but I always wear well-fitted bras/sports bras...

Any advice gratefully received... it does seem to be muscular since it hurts when I tense... but it is also painful to pressure on it... and its the wrong time of the month to be related to my menstrual cycle.

Should I be going to a physio or the gyno?

(...before you tell me to quit rugby I am already going to be away for a year and therefor won't be able to play again till 2010.)

...just another point to add. Its been 4/5 days since I came off the crutches from the ankle injury... so I don't think its related to that... but it could be??
