UK- CPSM - German Recognition?

Hi,
I'm a physio student from germany, and would like to work in the UK after finishing my studies. I'd be happy if anybody could tell me how long it takes to get a work permission from the CPSM. Is it difficult to get a fulltime-job in the UK at the moment?

Hi Eva
The whole process for an overseas trained physiotherapist can take at least 3 months, often a lot longer.
This is because part of the requirement is for your University to provide details of your course. There can often be long delays at this point.
At Locum Group we have an 'overseas' section which is dedicated to helping overseas trained physiotherapists to get their CPSM registration. There is no charge for this.

Hey Eva, you can also try talking to The Placement Company or Angela Shaw and Associates. It isd my understanding that as most German courses are to a diploma level you would require more training (extensive) if you wished to work in the UK. It's a shame that they do not try to increase the depth of the various undergraduate courses in Germany as with such a problem in the UK NHS, they would welcome any bodies who fulfilled the criteria for CPSM registration.
