Hey I am from France and doing the exam in september too. Not much news also. Sorry about that. I bought the tidy's handbook to start. I would like to start also with AAPTA but the site is under construction.
You are not alone.
Cheers Mate
I have just today been approved to write to APC Written Exam in Sept 2013 in Johannesburg. I would like to meet up with other physios that are in the same boat and just chat about what exactly should be revised for this exam!

Hi there,
Yes that AAPTA site has been under construction for quite a while now. My biggest concern is that since I have qualified in 2007, I have only worked in Paediatrics!!!! So I have to study basically my whole last year of university before I could go and write this exam --- so much stres!!!!
What is the Tidy's Handbook you are talking about?
The Tidy's book looks like a book with everything about everything in Physiotherapy. In France We have the same kind of book called vademecum. I bought the book and waiting for it.
I haven't been working in cardiology and respiratory so I have to restudy everything too plus it is not my language so more stress about it.
I wrote an email to the AAPTA site to be looged in. Hope it will help.
Take care.
Hi
Thanks for telling about the handbook, just had a look on Amazon and ordered it also - the 15th Edition! Has to be a very good seller if they update it so often!
English is also not my first language, I had to write the IELTS about two months ago, for which i also had to study quite a bit.
If I may ask, what are your plans for australia? Why not stay in France?
My sister recently immigrated to AU, and from what she and her husband have been telling us, it is a really great country (unlike South Africa). We also want to immigrate as soon as I get registration there.
Good luck with your studies.
Yes the book looks good I hope.
we have lived 5 years in France with my wife (she is Australian) and now it is my turn to go to Australia. It is a beautiful country with a great spirit.
I have contacted the AAPTA and they sent a file to complete and send them back then you have to call them and after they give a approval email.
You better do it too they seem organized.
I give you their address. AAPTA <[email protected]>
in wich language you do your studies? I thought south africa had english as main language. Sorry about my ignorance.
