Hi Jose,
Every country has their own registration procedures that you have to follow and it's not an easy feat. A lot of preparation and hard work is necessary. If you do not want to take any exams I suggest you can take New Zealand, HOWEVER,you have to fill up the competency charts which is time & energy-consuming and also insanely nauseous. With Australia, you have to pass the 3 stages: Eligibility, Written Exams & clinical Exams and there is a useful website in guiding you thru the written and clinicals. Kindly contact Emmi on this email: emanu_19@yahoo.it and read her post entitled "Australian Last Written Exam" under Physio Exams_International accreditation. The BOTTOMLINE is, deciding which country you want to go for is primarily VITAL.
Goodluck to you!!!![]()
Cheers!!!!!
I have attempted UK, Australia and Canada.
I got thru UK and Canada.
UK was real easy.Just had to take up a short course that was missing from their expectations, to make up for credentialling. And then it was just paper work! (btw, Im educated in India)
Australia (5 yrs ago!) was tough because they dont have as clear guidelines as Canada for what one can expect from their exams.
Canada was easy mainly because they give you very good guidelines on the exam process.
hi synapse,
do you have any websites which i can visit to know more on how to
go about in applying for a therapy job in canada? tnx..
Hi!
First of all, do you have your eligibility to sit the clinical exam?
Do you have permanent residency in Canada?
I think these issues are to be tackled first.![]()
There are a lot of websites for jobs...Physiobob it self has so many!
Besides every province has its own physiotherapy association that has good info.
http://www.physiotherapy.ca/
Well, why dont you get on to http://www.alliancept.org/ , so you get to know the requirements.Whichever province you aim for, you have to go through credentialling and the PCE (exam) first anyway. Once you have done that, you can then work in any province.
And I think working on your immigration at the same time will be of added benefit.![]()
What books are recommended as guide to get prepared to undertake Aussie accreditation ?
Thanks a lot!

Hi there,
You need to go thru the 3 stages to get accredited before you can be an aussie physio. 1st is eligibility, 2nd, would be the written examination and third is the clinicals. If you need any help regarding books or other references you can look into AAPTA, try and join Emmanuela's group and from there you will have the access in getting good tips or advices from those who have had the exams. Please see the heading "Working as physiotherapist in Australia" and read on"Study group available for Australian recognition process" posted by Emmi.
Goodluck to you!!!
