Caught in the MICHIGAN / NY trap.
Dont take offence but it appears that you have taken the same route as many other Physio Therapists from all over the globe, the only two States in the whole US that accept(ed) most PT qualification from around the world is (was) NY and Michigan.
Lets face facts - With so many PTs from around the world entering into the profession there and not being able to go anywhere else, the salaries for PTs in those two States (if you can get a job) are now despairingly low.
We do not send our PTs to either of these States exactly because of this reason.
We credential all of our PTs at the FCCPT Type 1 level and register them for the NPTE with one of the States with the highest requirements. We ascertain what the deficiencies are and prepare and coach our candidate to pass CLEP or PLAN credits which allow them to meet this licensure.
This allows the PT to be employed within a State at a higher salary and quite often better standard of living.
We havent as of yet, had a PT with a 3 year bachelor degree, who we have accepted for sponsorship NOT meet the FCCPT type 1 evaluation requirement.
Happy to offer advice.
Good Luck
