Studying In Australia (U of Sydney, Melbourne, Curtin)

    Hello,

I've recently been accepted to a few physiotherapy programs I've applied to in Australia.

    Curtin Masters of PT
    Melbourne Doctorate of PT
and I'm still waiting on Sydney's Master of PT

I am very excited about studying and living in Australia. I would like to explore the possibilities of sports physiotherapy and I heard the best way to get into this would be to volunteer with teams. Regarding the programs I've been accepted which one would you advise would be the best for this direction? Would any of these programs allow me to specialize in sports or manip in my later years?

Also, i don't know much about the cities outside of what I've read. Would a 23 year old be entertained in perth?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    hey,
i'm living in perth and got accepted into Curtin's Masters of PT for next year too. i'm not sure about the other two unis, but i know that curtin also has manip masters. in fact, uwa (also in perth) has a MT course too.

and this is what i read in another thread:

"I sincerely think that Curtin has the best bunch of teachers out of any university, Peter O'Sullivan, Steve Edmondston, Max Zusman, Toby Hall, Bob Elvey, Kim Robinson, Helen Slater just to name few, these guys are at the forfront of MT in the world."

not sure whether it's true or not... but i'm hoping it is, cos i'm learning there next year.

as with life in perth, i think it is relatively more quiet and less busy than Melbourne and Sydney. but you can still be entertained haha.

    good luck with your decision-making!
