    Re: Is physiotherapy Gender skewed????

In the early days physiotherapy was mainly a female lead profession. Even as early as 1990 there was perhaps a 4:1 ratio of women to men in many of the western physiotherapy schools. Nowadays more and more men are becoming physiotherapists and it would not surprise me if in some schools there are more men than women. But to answer your question the world's population of Physiotherapists are perhaps more female than male. I suspect that this ratio is getting close all the time. But there is no gender bias for undergraduates wanting to partake in this profession. Who knows maybe someone has some official stats they can post here on the forum. The WCPT would be perhaps the best people to gather such data.
