Rehabilitation Science/Physiotherapy MSc (pre-reg) Brighton, Course Advice

    Hi all

I have just graduate from Coventry University in Sports Therapy with a 2.1 just this September after appealing my final (previous giving me a 2.2). I've always wanted to apply to a MSc pre-registered Physiotherapy course. Before September I have been rejected because of my results, being unsuccessful from: Leeds Met (they do random selection), MMU (grades), UEA (grades), Southampton (said my references weren't in on time), Teeside (grades). The rest of them I missed when on my degree.
York SJ I'm still applying for.

But now I have the opportunity to access them all with a 2.1, which includes others such as Birmingham, Oxford brookes, KCL, Crumbria, Northumbria etc
There seems a few but theres not enough almost, and each offer less than 20 places from my knowledge. It gets worse when theres 200+ applicants

So my predicament is I have a 2.1 now. Essex and Brighton requirements starts from a 2.2. so is any Brighton good? its smaller than Coventry, which I want to get away from. I'm from the Midlands so....Birmingham/UEA would be nice, but they are both top of the list in tersm of standards.

Brighton have now asked me for an invitation day, with a show round, group discussion and then an interview at Eastbourne Campus. Before They've asked for an essay about professionalism (which I'm going to need help with). Just to note their Physio course is titled 'Rehabilitation Science' there claims to be no difference?

If theres someone who has done postgrad or undergrad at Brighton Physio/Rehab Science that could convince me or advise me otherwise, especially about NHS placements etc. Anything will be appreciated! Or just chat about the Pre-registered courses.

    Thanks
    Liam

    Hi Liam,

I am currently studying at Brighton doing the MSc Rehab Science course. I have taken some time out until February due to illness but I will continue my NHS placements in 2013. I would say the course at Brighton is very good, but their is a huge emphasis on problem based learning which I do not like much. All the teachers/lecturers are very good and approachable.

The workload is huge but that is to be expected. If I can answer any more questions then just let me know.

    Matt

    Cheers for the reply Matt
I have tried to message you but you have it turned off, since I posted this I had my selection event at Brighton. The staff seem really good as you say, and yes Dr Kuisma was rather focused on PBL and could of assumed it ran dry on some of the students. I did meet some of your coursemate then, and unfortunate to hear your unwell, but equally as good as you are able to continue where you left off.
Today I just had my interview day at York St John, to compare them both is rather difficult.
I'm not sure on both of them, and its nearly been a month since the selection event so I may not have even made the course.

Did you not apply anywhere else Matt? are you from near brighton/eastbourne?

    Liam
