    Studying physiotherapy in Europe

    Hello colleagues,

I would like you to share your opinion with me. I am studying Physiotherapy BSc in Lithuania however, I've always wanted to study abroad. Can anyone of you offer me English taught courses of physiotherapy in Europe? For instance, in Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Greece, Scandinavian countries. I've tried searching for english taught courses in these countries, but I found just several of them.

Thank you all for your time.

    Re: Studying physiotherapy in Europe

    Hi,
a simple Google search should have got you here:
    Search results - BachelorsPortal.eu

But please do not forget that wherever you study - you will have to do clinical placements = speak the local language.

Why not go to England/ Scotland/ Ireland/ Wales????

    Regards,
    Fyzzio

    Re: Studying physiotherapy in Europe

    Hey,
I tried to apply to England for 2013/2014 entry with no luck. All unies require much expirience. I have had just a month in a clinical volunteering. It seems to me that the vast majority of universities in England are reluctant to accept Eastern European students to such programme as physio. Speaking about universities in Europe maybe anyone else knows more universities than the site above refers to. Also, maybe anyone knows any sports-oriented physiotherapy programmes in Europe(including England).

    Re: Studying physiotherapy in Europe

    Hi,
you will have to do a Bachelor of Science/ Physiotherapy first. Sports Physiotherapy is covered to a very basic level, like other areas of specialisation like mental health, gynaecology, etc.
The actual specialisation in Sports (Science or Exercise Science) comes later. You can do postgraduate corses or postgraduate diplomas or a masters programme. Or just start working in a Sports Clinic as a new grad.

    Re: Studying physiotherapy in Europe

    Hey,
Thanks for help Fyzzio. One more question. I was wondering what UK universities consider physiotherapy work experience? I volunteered at Vilnius University Hospital in the summer of 2013. I had 2 weeks of experience, some of it was hands-on. I had opportunity to see how physiotherapists work to rehabilitate disabled people after strokes. Does that count as work experience?
