      Re: hpc

Again this is often an issue with institutions cashing in on courses that do not permit any form of HPC registration at the conclusion of the course. You do not need HPC registration for any course as it is a body that regulates practise, not education. If practise is what you wish to do under the title of "Physiotherapist" then you must have a qualification that gives you HPC registration. I cannot comment on general sports therapist type job opportunities but they do appear widespread in the health and fitness industry in the UK. This too is becoming a more competitive area and is why the protection of title "physiotherapist" was recently pushed through.

So please bear in mind the outcome of any course you may wish to take in relation to what you are wishing to achieve following its conclusion. Best of luck

      Hi there

I want to know why hpc registration is required to join for a particular course when actually it is meant to regulate practise and not learning?does this mean that courses being offered without needing hpc reg. are lower in standard?like sports or rehabilitation ?
Sheffield too requires hpc registration rite?its a good univ.
      cheers

      Re: sheffield hallam university

      Hello all,

In response to why some MSc physio courses require HPC (and sometimes CSP registration too) is because many of them have a practical component such as acupuncture, injection therapy etc. which require you to practice on patients to generate enough case studies to meet asessmnet requirements. However, not all modules are so practical and it will also depend on the individual university and modules you want to take.

      Rach
