It sounds like everything is going fine and you've done the right thing by slowly returning to training.
When it happened the doctor would have looked at your injury and decided whether you needed an operation or not. They look at the broken bone and see how deformed the break is. Yours was one that they thought would heal itself, which it sounds like it has.
When bone heals it lays down extra bone to bridge the gap. This on X ray can look like a bulge of bone. Often you can feel the lump through the skin too. Over time this remodels and it looks more like the original bone.
The calcium doesn't fall off. Why would your body get rid of it? It is the new bone holding the old fracture together.
If you are concerned go back to your doctor but it sounds like your should be fine. Enjoy the season.
