    Anterior Cruciate Ligament Rehab

I'm looking at producing a presentation to discuss the rehabilitation process that occurs after an anterior Wikipedia reference-linkcruciate ligament injury in football players, and if anyone can suggest any sources where I can view different training programs etc it would be very helpful

    Many Thanks
    Danny

    Re: Anterior Cruciate Ligament Rehab

    Taping
Hi, i had a cartledge op in august 2008, i was told i need a CL op in around 18 months time, so i had the cartledge op and post op the swelling on my knee was not decreasing and i was still getting shooting pains up my thigh. i was then referred back to the consultant by the physio, i received a CL op in Jan 21st 2009. it was the graft from the thigh type of proceedure.

    Coming upto 8 months later
Today is 13 sept 2009, and my knee swells up a little bit on the knee, this is after around 30 mins on the tread mill, ( that was yesterday) today i went on the tread mill for say 7 mins max for a warm at around 6-7 mph. knee seemed ok, then i done my upper body workout, weights, after the seession i have noticed my knee has swelled up more than it does ?? this has been the first time i have tranined consistantly for 2 days, iam asking is this the norm ,lol, ( maybe i needed to rest it ?

also my knee ( always) seems to have small bit of swelling compared to my , ok knee, also my post op knee is not as strong as my normal knee but it is not far behind it in terms of strength.

during my physio i done all the required stuff including squats, last week i was sqating around 60-70 kg, if you include the bar as 20 kg.

It is coming up to 8 months post op and my physio told me last time if my knee is still swelling up she is going to give me a number for a specialist in my city centre. dont get me wrong my knee is much better than it was, but 8 months is a long time ???, also there has been a couple of botched ops, regarding knees at the hospital i had mine and my concern is that i am 1 of thoese people ( this scares me as iam genrally a fitness fanatic, eat all the good foods, with a 6pack ,lol, and i do not want to go through an other op again. i know if it is needed i will need to be done. do you understand my predicament.

could you please guide me with your knowledge. HELP

    KINDEST REGARDS
    Sean
