    Inner Thigh and Groin Pain

Hello all, Hope everyone is doing well and thank you in advance for looking at my problem.

Alright so I am a 21 year old male and i have had this constant pain from my groin, through my inner thigh, to right above my knee on my left leg for roughly 3 months. Does not hurt when i sneeze or cough. Its not an unbearable pain by any means but just more of an annoyance. I tend to feel more of a strain when i walk up stairs or am walking consistently for about 30 minutes. The pain is pretty much always there though.

I went to my primary care doctor who sent me to a chiropractor who has tried his best to help me but to no avail. He tried acupuncture and just over all adjustments and stretching. What hurt the most was when he would push against the inside of my knees and have me try and close them and then additionally when he would hold them together and have me try to open them.

Just got into mountain biking in the spring and rode a couple times through the pain because at the time it did not seem to bother it. Had a couple crashes but nothing major by any means and the pain did not onset after any of those crashes either.

Sorry to give you a short life story but i tried to include all the info i thought you might need. Thanks again for taking a look.

    Farris

Re: Inner Thigh and Groin Pain

    Taping
had similar - although on both sides, left side for 7 years and right for 2 !!! Turned out that it was a hernia of sorts...

Right side was a 'normal' inguinal hernia although only a very minor bulge during the last 6 months or so and left side was a 'sports hernia' or 'sportsmans groin' or 'occult hernia' depending on who you speak to. Basically a weakening of the abdominal wall causing pressure and pain but no bulge.

Reason for the pain that can also travel into the leg, knee, hip and back is that in the inguinal canal there are a bunch of nerves that supply sensation to these areas, or are supplied from these areas. Inner thigh pain is most likely the genitofemoral nerve being compressed.

Is the pain less intense in the morning but gets worse with activity?
