Impact on Old Thigh Tear - How Serious?

    Hello,

At the start of the last football season I badly tore my right thigh. After two months of physio it healed and I never had a problem with it for the rest of the season. I just had to stretch it before games a lot more than I used to. Last night I was playing the first pre-season friendly of the season and I got a dead leg on nearly the exact spot I tore it. I signalled to come off immediately and I put ice on it right away. The pain has decreased a lot in the last 12 hours after a lot of iceing throughout the day. It is still a little sore to touch.

The reason I am writing hear is I want to know how serious this could be seeing as I've already tore it. I don't think I'll train on Thursday night but I want to play on Saturday. Should I be worried about the old injury?

    Cheers

Yes, please. Cumulative effects. I'd go get checked out. You don't want to be berating yourself when you are in your 70s for youthful misadventures!
