History: achilles repair on left side(2009). That calf has never been the same. I worked with physical therapy for 6 months after and I exercise 6 days a week, I do not feel any pain on a normal basis.
I get muscle spasms in toes and calf area at night but never have a problem while I am working our or jogging/running normally.
Two years in row I have run in the Tough Mudder and I am fine until I hit water and the cramping/spasms start acting up again. I would like to know what I need to do to get beyond this it is very painful, my physician says stretching, but I am very good about stretching, hydration, I added in supplements (magnesium, potassium), this does not seem to make a difference. It starts on the weaker calf/toe but I will get them in both legs. Any information/ideas/exercises would be greatly appreciated.
