Hi Terry,
You need to determine where in Oz you want to work... Check with the equivalent Regional Board to see whether they offer Temp Registration. I understand that you need at least one years PG work experience.
All the best,
.
Hello
I have recently qualified as a physiotherapist in the Uk. I would like to go and learn my trade in Oz. I know its a long and difficult process but Im determined to get through it. Would it be necessary for me to have clinical experience after University or would it be possible to start the application process directly after graduating?? Could you kindly provide me with information about the application process as a whole from start to the finish. Is there anywhere that I can obtain past papers?.
Any help will be very much appreciated
Kind regards
Terry

Hi Terry,
I am a newly qualified physio myself (sept 2010) and was wondering if you had any luck with this? Similarly, I would like to do my junior training in Australia and was wondering if there are jobs out there for newly qualified UK trained students.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave.
Hey guys
I am actually moving to Australia at the end of this year and I will be graduating this July (from the UK)! My parents live there and they have found out some basic info for me, thought it might be useful for you as well. Basically, as a UK newly graduate, you need to complete the practical and theory exam first. However in the meantime you should just keep applying to different vacancies, and let them know in your covering letter that you are completing the registration, that way they know where you're at in terms of registration as that is the main thing they will need you to have before they give you a job. Secondly, from the sounds of it, it isn't going to be too hard to find jobs as a newly graduate physio as they are currently always looking. I was told there was a job vacancy at the hospital where my dad works and they didn't even receive any applicants! So they are all desperately looking!!
Im finishing off here too very soon, at the uni of brighton and after doing some travelling I plan to travel to melbourne by the end of the year! Anyway hope that helps!!
