Living in australia before doing the aecop exams

Advertise your physiotherapy job on Physiobob's Job
    Hi everyone!
wondering if anyone could give me some help/guidance.
I'm currently coming to the end of my second year and i would really love to work and live in Australia permanently with my boyfriend when i finish my degree next year. We are both English, I'm 20 whilst he's 25. He has no real training since leaving school but works as a cook now.
is there anyway that you know of that we could both come to live and work in Australia, perhaps working in bars/retail etc, and then do the AECOP exams whilst i am living there?
I'd kind of rather do that than have to rent/live/acquire furniture living in england whilst taking the exams after graduating.
also can any one tell me the time scale of these exams? i know the eligibility form takes five working days, but are there any set dates for the written/ practical exams, and how long does it take to get results?
    thanks!
    Nicola

Hi Nicola. Unfortunately you aren't even eligible to sit the Australian exams unless you have a years experience working as a physio. This is because the Australian physio degree is 4 years and the UK degree is only 3 years. Look at the AECOP or APA websites to find out what criteria you need to meet to sit the exams. Good Luck

Thanks for getting back to me!
well thats a bit rubbish, but nevermind.
so once you have the years experience, what would be the best option? could you get placements or temporary visa to work as a physio whilst you're doing the exams?
