to start as pediatric physio in Canada

Hi all,
I am a Bobath trained pediatric physiotherapist from Pakistan. I have 10 years working experience with children having neurodevelopmental problems with multidisciplinary team in a rehab centre based in Karachi, Pakistan. now I am planning to Canada. Can anybody plz advice me how I would be able to start with in Canada with children having neuro problems even as an Assiastant in the beginning. plz inform me abt such centres , even in private sector, where i can apply. is it necessary to pass licence to work in private sector too.

In Canada the process of credentialling may take up to 6 months to a year, while the 2 exam components are spaced out over another 6 months to a year.

thnx Canuck. but actually I want to know that can I start without attempting any exam initially may be as an assistant. what is the scope of pediatric physiotherapist in Canada. plz let me know what sort of settings I can apply.

Hi,

Physio assistants aren't very common in Canada, at least not in BC.

You would have to approach physio companies, and organisations for a suitable position, and they would have to be willing to accomodate you..
