Many Employers has lost interest in hiring Temporary Foreign Workers because of the financial burden that is place on the Employer as a result of the changes in new policy.

Counsel believes it is in the potential applicant’s best interest to apply directly for permanent residence from the onset which saves time, money and advances the applicant to a better economic start in Canada.


Similarly, there has been some changes to the Permanent Residence application process which allows for faster processing and a quicker response.
The prospective applicant first needs to complete one or both test in English or French:
English

• IELTS: International English Language Testing System

• CELPIP: Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program

French

• TEF: Test d’évaluation de français

The implementation of the new policy for Permanent Residents, outweighs by far that of the Temporary Foreign Worker and is highly recommended by Counsel as it allows the entire family to migrate at once.
