Want to work in New Zeland

Advertise your physiotherapy job on Physiobob's Job
Hello, I am a physio working in Scotland, and keen to move to New Zeland. Could anyone who has been through the process of searching for jobs, registring, etc tell me how they got on and how to get started?!!

re: Want to work in New Zeland

Hi Cindy. If you want an application form (You need one anyway)for the registration write to: Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand, PO Box 3287, Wellington (NZ) They'll send you all the info on what you need for registration. (They don't have e-mail, as far as I know) Or ph: (04) 499 7979, fax: (04) 472 2350
You can get more info from the NZ Society for Physio: [email protected]. But you can't subscribe when you're not registered. There are enough jobs available.
For general info on emigration to NZ go to: www.immigration.govt.nz
    Good Luck!

    Hi Cindy!
Start early as the process of registering in nz can take several months - well worth it though. be prepred to send photocopies of dissertations, references regarding reasearch and management skills etc. plus lots of references!

thre are loads of jobs and if you write to the nzsp they'll send you the current issues of their newsletter which feature jobs. from my experience i would do it independently rather than go through an agency.

hope the info. is useful and good luck!

Re: Want to work in New Zeland

    Anna,

do you still have a word doc. copy of your competency section?? I am finding it really difficult to keep myself on track, I keep getting sidetracked and end up writing about other stuff, then read over it and end up deleting it all because I don't think it applies to the competency. I also don't know If I am meant to be answering the competencies like questions e.g. how to tell normal from abnormal human development, or just directing them to which papers on my course would have covered this???

Any help would be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO great

    Thanks

    Suzanne
