Re: New Zealand Registration in 8 weeks

    Hi Kevin,

Congrats on your Nz Registration! I'm now up to the process to complete the templates for the competencies, and it would be really helpful if you can send me an example of one of yours. I'm not sure if my writing is being too short or too long, thanks in advance, hope that you are still enjoying working in Nz

    Cheers,

    Judith

    Help!
I'm a PT in the USA and would like a little help with the competency templates. All I need is an example of someone's that was successfully registered. I promise I will just look at it for "inspiration"
Also, any DPTs out there in NZ that have their reg??? please let me know how you dealt with the cardioplm piece of it
Thanks for all the help on this forum so far!

Re: New Zealand Registration in 8 weeks

I'm being really cheeky but wondering has anyone got a copy of a completed successful application for registration in New Zealand. I'm starting to feel a bit confused on how to word and write things and feel that if I had an example I'll know if I'm on the right track? Thank you my email is [email protected]

Re: New Zealand Registration in 8 weeks

application to New zealand is very confusing I was wondering if its not to checky to ask to have a look at yours? Any help / advise you can give me be great!

    Also
do you have any experienced applying to physiotherapy registration in New Zeeland from a 2 year Msc pre registration course , the course is only 2 years long but hold the same amount of placement clinical hours as the Bsc and on qualification you are registered to practise in the UK. However from the New Zealand website its not clear

    thanks

Re: New Zealand Registration in 8 weeks

    Hi,
we just discussed NZ registration for foreigners at work (one of our new staff has been through the process) and she printed off the application forms.
Your question is answered on page 3. As long as your Masters is based on a Bachelor (and they give you examples of what is acceptable) you can just apply like everyone else but need a full year of postgrad work.
That's at least how we understand it.

By the way - she said that once you get your head around it, it's quite easy. She just copied everything that needs to go into her prof dev portfolio anyway (from memory that was: on call competencies, appraisals, presentations, course certificates) and wrote a few reflective statements. Had her registration within a matter of weeks.
    Cheers, Fyzzio

Re: New Zealand Registration in 8 weeks

    Hi
this is Sarah Jung from South Korea.
I saw your post ! first of all congratulation !!
I hope my application will be accepted to NZ physiotherapist board.

    Here's my career.
I graduated 4years physical therapy school in South Korea.
I have license and 1year full time experience.
Of course, I need to prove my Eng skill so, I got IELTS 7.5
I send all my paper to the board but, they send me back this information.

I would also draw your attention to the required physiotherapy competencies that all registered physiotherapists in New Zealand are expected to demonstrate:

    http://www.physioboard.org.nz/sites/..._for_web_0.pdf

To gain registration in New Zealand as a physiotherapist under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 (HPCA Act) competence must be demonstrated in cardiopulmonary, musculoskeletal and neurological physiotherapy in all the nine areas of physiotherapy competency.

Can I ask how did you pass this test?
    Thank you for your help

    Sincerely Sarah

Re: New Zealand Registration in 8 weeks

Congratulations! i'm stanley, a physiotherapist registered in Philippines, i already completed my requirements for PTNZ qualifications. I'll be coming in NZ on September. Is it wiser if i register on the PTNZ council offshore? if yes, HOW? or is it more wiser to apply personally in NZ? thank you!

    all the best,
    STAN

    Hi Stan,
I have also replied to your other post.
Reading this one (e.g. PTNZ council; there is no PTNZ council here in NZ) suggests that you haven't undertaken much research into the matter yet, so I will attach two links for your information.
    Good luck,
    Fyzzio

I am planning on going to New Zealand in June of this year. If anyone has any questions about the registration process or any queries please dont hesitate to ask and i will respond to you!! It is easier than people think if you dont get too bogged down and if you use the templates accordingly.
