American student looking for mentor in NZ or Australia

Advertise your physiotherapy job on Physiobob's Job
I'm a physical therapy student from the USA. As part of my program, I will do a 2 month practicum at the very end of my classwork (among other clinical experiences) and I'd really love to find one or a few mentors in NZ or Australia to get an international experience. Does anyone have any guidance or suggestions on therapists, schools, or contacts I can get in touch with that can guide me toward a mentor from June-August 2009?? It would be an informal, yet somewhat structured learning experience, but not a true clinical. I could use any help I can get!!

Thanks in advance for any information you can give me!

    Sarah

    Hi Sarah,
I don't quite understand what you mean with a "mentor", and a practicum that isn't clinical, but for new Zealand - here are some organisations, where you could ask for help:

    Universities/ Physiotherapy Schools:
    1) www.otago.ac.nz
    2) www.aut.ac.nz

    Physiotherapy Board: www.physioboard.org.nz
    NZ Society of Physiotherapists: www.physiotherapy.org.nz

    Hope this helps,
    kind regards,
    Fyzzio
