    UK Immigration Nazis?

Advertise your physiotherapy job on Physiobob's Job
Hi. I work for Principal Locums, a UK Recruitment Agency.
When I entered the UK from Australia, I was travelling on a British Passport.
An Australian Physio locum just asked us if he might have any trouble getting through UK Immigration - he is planning to work for the two years on a Working Holiday Visa. He asked what he should say to them. My obvious reply is to just tell the truth, given the current UK recruitment problems.
Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of UK Immigration authorities giving foreign trained Physios a hard time?
    Cheers.

    UK Immigration Nazis?

Hi there. I am an Australian physio that worked in the UK for 3.5 years. I was fortunate to be on an ancestory visa, so I had no troubles getting through immigration in the UK. However friends of mine have been given a hard time entering on a working holiday visa. One of the conditions of a working holiday visa is that you are not supposed to work in your chosen profession to enhance your career. However I believe there are exceptions to this rule, and physiotherapists are one of the exceptions (or they were in 1997). Some friends of mine got official documentation from immigration and showed it to the immigration officials (who didn't appear to know about the exceptions), others I knew pretended they were going to apply for nanny/ bar work so they wouldn't get hassled. Good-luck!!!

    re: UK Immigration Nazis?

My working holiday visa expired in Feb. and I re-entered with a photocopied work permit, no problems. Always told the truth, but I believe they do give some people problems, especially South Africans, even with work permits in hand and the fact that physios are supposed to be allowed to work in their profession.
