Re: which state doesn`t ask for social security??

I had the same problem and I sent an email to all state boards and surprinsingly I got quite a few answers, the states that have said that do not require a SSN are the following:
    -NY
    -New Mexico
    -Delaware
    -Montana
    -Alaska
    -Virginia
    -Colorado
    -Michigan
    -Kentucky
    -Ohio
    -Texas
    -Wisconsin
    -Maryland

    I hope this help you!

Advertise your physiotherapy job on Physiobob's Job
Hi, as far as I know you have to have a social security number to work in the US. I was at uni in Florida and I had to have a ss#. In fact you can't do anything without one for example get a cell phone, credit card etc.... They use it also for Tax purposes. You will be given a ss# once you are offered a job.

At least that is how it was 3 years ago...
