FCCPT type 1 service or credential evaluation ?

    Hello,

I am a pt from Europe, with a bachelor and master degree, who is trying to get a license in Washington Dc or Virginia.. I am also using the Fccpt service for my credential evaluation but I do not understand if it is better to use the credential evaluation service or do the type 1 service. I know that if my education is not equivalent to the one in the Usa i need to use the Plan service or Clep, but what about if I want to enroll in a university and fulfill my credits with a doctoral program? Would it be the same? I mean, considering that most of the people take up to 2 years to complete all the missing credits with these services, I will rather get a doctoral degree. Is there anybody in the same situation ? PLEASE PLEASE anybody out there ???

Re: FCCPT type 1 service or credential evaluation ?

    Hi,
As I understand it you need the type 1 service for immigration purposes for the H1B visa. It only took me 6 months to get all the deficiencies the FCCPT outlined in their PLAN service, and I only have a Bsc not masters.

I had 23.5 general ed credits needed for which I did CLEPs and 5 professional ones that I used Southwestern uni in Phillipines for. 😀

Hi, I went through the FCCPT, got the PLAN service so I knew they would definitely accept the courses I did, then followed the FSBPT website to apply for and sit the exam. It will be far easier for you to do if you are already in the USA. Hope this helps, if it was what you were asking 😀

Re: FCCPT type 1 service or credential evaluation ?

I have one serious confusion. people say we can't write npte without masters degree. but I have only bachelors degree in physiotherapy from india. And one more question, what does that plan service do? did you do PLAN alone or Type 1 as well. Thank you.

Re: FCCPT type 1 service or credential evaluation ?

Advertise your physiotherapy job on Physiobob's Job
Hi, I am an indian physio; living in canada.. I have done my B.P.T from RGUHS.I have few queries hope i get answers:

    1. I want to take NPTE exam as soon as possible. I have heard that NY state has min requirement so it will take less time. And for NY there is diff process called new york verification: so my que is, do i have to do type 1 verification as well to take NPTE?Or just new york verification is enough?

    2. I live in canada and also have tourist visa of US valid for 10 yrs; but i have heard that i can appear for NPTE from canada as well. Is this true? And if true; do i need type 1?

    3. If i want to work in US as a physio; do i have to have health care worker certificate? Or do type 1? Or just new york verification is enough for NPTE exam and to work as well?

    4. I already had taken TOEFL twice for canadian physiotherapy licensure exam, and have scores valid till Nov and Dec 2015. So was thinking that if at all i need to take toefl again for NPTE or Type 1, i better use that score before it expires.*
    My toefl scores:
    Nov 2013 exam- R20, L20, S26, W25 = total 91
    Dec 2013 exam- R27, L27, S23, W24 = total 101
    is this valid score?

Hope to hear soon from someone...

    thanks.
