    Smile about FCCPT process

    Hi
I am Naresh, I am physical Therapist from India. I did my credential evaluation from ICDEL and also get ATT from Michigan Board of Health Care so now i am planing to give NPTE exam this December. Now my problem is i want to practice in Texas state, but i don't know how much minimum credits we must have? So if any one has some idea about it then please tell me. One more thing is Texas board is asking for my credential evaluation from FCCPT, and for that i must get 26 in speaking with overall of 89 marks in TOEFL iBT. So i want to know that without this score can i get my credential evaluation from FCCPT?

    Re: about FCCPT process

    Hello Naresh,

I am Indian physio completed 41/2 yrs. not done masters. when i planned Credential evaluation through ICD i got advice not to evaluate thru ICD because they ask for Masters. evaluate through FCCPT. But after found FCCPT course work evaluation checklist through some website. they ask general education minimum 54 credit hrs with physics and chemistry compulsory for more look at check list uploaded in WORD format. I dont know whether in india physiotherapy course has physics and chemistry in syllabus. how did you clear ICD evaluation... ICD ask for masters in VISA SCREENING process. for your question... FCCPT ask for TOEFL score.

I have uploaded FCCPT check list and application form..
i want to know whether i can clear Credential verification and visa screening with ICD and have u you done masters. Give more details abt evaluation ICD and FCCPT

    Expecting reply from you

Thumbs up Re: about FCCPT process

    hi dear,
No its not like that what you think. C i did my credential evaluation ICDEL only and even i have 4 and half year degree. They even send me eligibility letter for taking NPTE exam. So they are not asking for Master degree. They have no concern with your degree whether you have bachelor of Master degree, their job is only to evaluate only your degree ,to evaluate your credits that's it. So if you send them all your document the way they are asking...i don't think so you will have trouble. Ok so go ahead with ICDEL if you want to give Michigan state license exam. ok Anyway thanks for your reply. bye c u t c

    Re: about FCCPT process

    Hi,
    Thanks for replying to me
ICD may be not asking Masters for Credential evaluation but they ask for visa screening this you will be doing after clearing NPTE but if visa screening done by FCCPT Type II they are not asking masters. This is what i was told by Darren williams of physioamerica.com -- US Recruitment agency wing of this forum. So i planned to apply through FCCPT. GENERAL eduction credits is minimum 56 hrs with PHYSICS and CHEMISTRY compulsory for this. U can find this in check list I uploaded.Have you read that. I have no physics and chemistry in physiotherapy syllabus. So i was unable to apply either through ICD or FCCPT.

I hope you have some solution.
    Thanking you

Look ICd and Fccpt have no concern with MSc degree.it is the requirement of the state u are applying .
so apply for new york and michigan because they accepts BSPT and dont require so much general and professional credits.

    Re: about FCCPT process

I'm new in this forum and would like to know a few things. I do have a 4.5 yrs bachelors degree and a Masters degree in PT from India. I'm currently in Dallas, TX on a dependent visa and would like to get my credentials evaluated by FCCPT/ICDEL/etc. and then take the NPTE and apply to the TX board.

Does anyone know if I don't get approved by FCCPT, would I be able to work as a PTA? If yes, what kind of visa would I need to be able to work as a PTA? Also, would working as a PTA be sufficient or would I still need to take the extra credits (if I don't meet the credits requirements) to be able to apply for a PT license.

    Any ideas?
    CS.

    Re: about FCCPT process

    Hello dear colleagues,
I'm Karine. I just moved to Boston and am planning to apply for PT license. I know I must have my credentials evaluated by FCCPT. Can you tell me please: what do I do after that? Should I contact the Board of Allied Professionals in MA at the same time or should I wait for FCCPT's report?Frankly, it's a bit confusing what to do next after FCCPT..
Does anyone have Experience and if yes i wiil be very grateful if you describe it to me in steps which actions i should take to get license. Thanks in advance

    Re: about FCCPT process

    Hi!
I just qualified in July past and i'm just becoming more and more annoyed at the awful job situation over here.

I was thinking about working in the USA but was wondering if any one has been through the process before and has any advice on how to go about it.

Unfortunately my university DID NOT give me a respiratory placement so NZ is out of the question. USA seems to be my only hope at the minute

Ive read the fccpt and fsbpt sites but any help and advice on where to start would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!!
