Arrow FCCPT - USA Registration - Important msg to all

This for those who trying for US jobs and credentialing. FCCPT has planned to increase credit points from April 08. This would mean that those who try even for MI or NY states (where general credit of Indian therapist are accepted) they will have to complete masters. Even though ICD evaluates educational requirements for MI, FCCPT evaluation is necessary for VISA SCREEN CERTIFICATE. I think from now on bachelor degree therapist will not able to enter into US.

Check this web site - FCCPT

    hi,

dont worry. The new rule does not apply to New york. Fccpt collects only the documents. It's the NYSED which does credential verification.

Re: FCCPT - USA Registration - Important msg to all

Well I asked them couple of days back and they said, all the applications they got in their mail beofore 1st april would be considered under old system.
It seems that your application will be processed under previous system.

Re: FCCPT - USA Registration - Important msg to all

    Hi Ameya,
I can understand how you are feeling. Sorry to say but American Rules are rubbish and especially when it comes to foriegners seeking immigration there.

    For visa Screening,
    1) If you go through FCCPT, than you need to pass your NPTE before applying for visa screening certificate.
    2) If you select CGFNS, than you can get visa screen without NPTE (provided you pass your language requirements) but they have one condition, which is that if you get you degree after Dec 2003, than you should hold master degree in physiotherapy (mind you in physio, not in kinesiology, bio mechanics, rehab or physiology) in order to qualify for it.

Now decision is yours which pathway is most suitable for you.

FCCPT - USA Registration -NY and Michigan Important msg to all

Advertise your physiotherapy job on Physiobob's Job
Looking for the same kind of info..i also want to know if someone recently applied for NY state credential verification. Do indian educated PT's now lack in General education in NY state also.
Earlier Michigan and NY used to be the states where there used to be no deficiency in our degrees.
Do we have deficiency in our education if we apply in these 2 states also now?
Any help regarding this will be greatly appreciated
    Thanks a lot
