working in Saudi Arabia or the middle east

Advertise your physiotherapy job on Physiobob's Job
I am thinking of working in the middle east to cash up for 12 months or so and would be interested to hear any comments or advice from anyone that has already worked out there or looked into it.

    re:

    Hi there jburke75!

Y do you want to come to the middle east??if you want to come here, you gotta be prepared for a thankless job.You also cannot work in a well paid govt set up until you get a license, which the ministry will give you only upon fulfillment of certain criteria 1 of them being 3yrs exp.Otherwise you have to work in a private set up without license which naturally means- pay sucks!
anyways, this is the case for saudi and kuwait.Think dubai is better .If you want exp-try a more expatriate friendly place.
    Hope this helps!

    Thanks for the reply.

My primary interest in working somewhere like Saudi was that I had heard that there was pretty good money to be made, although initial enquiries haven't been too promising or have been quite vague about the amount of money that you could expect to earn. Experience is no problem, I have over 6 years experience although almost all in private practice/ MS outpatient settings which may be an issue.

    Hi there
Hope im not too late.Well as long as you can produce an experience cert.things ought to go smoother.Do you get that if you are in private pract??anyways, the paper processing is painfully slow- takes upto a year sometimes so im not sure why you'd bother really!Well like i said if you get into the ministry the pay is good but otherwise....
Btw,have you ever considered how difficult it is to deal with your arab clients too?Hope i dont sound too depressing or anything, but thats the situation here.If you know somebody in the place who can help you get in it may be worth a shot.
    all d best!

Re: working in Saudi Arabia or the middle east

There is only one Education, and it has only one goal: the freedom of the mind. Anything that needs an adjective, be it civics education, or socialist education, or Christian education, or whatever-you-like education, is not education, and it has some different goal. The very existence of modified educations is testimony to the fact that their proponents cannot bring about what they want in a mind that is free. An education that cannot do its work in a free mind, and so must teach by homily and precept in the service of these feelings and attitudes and beliefs rather than those, is pure and unmistakable tyranny.

working in the middle east takes a lot of adjustment especially if you are from a cold country like european countries. you need to adopt in the climate and to the culture of the people.
