pay rates in Germany

hi. your question depends on whether you're working for a UK agency with the MOD on on the Germany market. there seems to be lots of MOD work at present and they pay well with lots of perks from the MOD as well (Naafi shopping, cheap or rent free accommodation, very cheap fuel etc). the German market is realy bad. I quallified in germany and worked there for 4 years after quallifying and never found a Physio who earned more than 2000 euros gross a month. theres also not that many decent jobs going as the market was swammped with physios in 2003/2004 - it seems that eveyone who was unimployed was offered a possition as a physio, and therefor there are also a lot of not very good people out there who give the profession a bad name. don't get me wrong, there are some absolute gurus out there, but theyre hard to find and tend to be over-worked. I'd recogmend an MOD post or look to a few other european countries, like Austria or Swizerland - there also lot seems to be a demand for good Physio's in the scandanavian countries. whatever you choose. good luck.

just a quick comment for this thread, as I have talked to someone about work in central Europe yesterday, and they weren't aware (this is true!):
If you want to work in Germany, Austria or Switzerland, unless you get a job in an US Airbase, you actually do have to speak German fluently ! Same, of course, for the other countries, e.d. need to be fluent in Dutch for the Netherlands, fluent in Spanish in Spain, etc.

I have recently returned from Germany working for the Army. The job was great and conditions of service were also very good. HOWEVER you must ensure that you sign up to a good agency. I had the unfortunate experience of working for Military Medical Personell ( MMP). I found the experience with the agency very frustrating! I may of been unlucky in that I am self employed and found that MMP could not pay me direct and had little control over a third party whom paid me. I have since changed agencies and find it much better. Please try to get all details from the agency in writing prior to accepting any post in Germany.
