    Patellar Tendonitis

    Taping
I am new to this forum, so forgive any newbie mistakes.
My problem is patellar tendonitis that has been nagging me for months.
Tried weeks of ibuprofen and some strength training but hasn't helped much.
Xray and even Wikipedia reference-linkMRI are negative.
I came across a web site for Wei Laboratories and a product they make called a FASTT patch for tendonitis.

Has anyone tried it? Does it work?
    any help is appreciated.

    Re: Patellar Tendonitis

    Hi Mike

There is no inflammatory reaction, hence the NSAIDS will do zip. You don't need strength, but need eccentric training.

Find out the cause and deal with that - the symptoms will follow. You don't need gizmo's and gadget's....yet

    Re: Patellar Tendonitis

to even hazard a guess at this problem more information is needed,

    1. a history of the problem from when it first presented, any other and/or previous problems.
    2. what sports/activities you participate in,
    3. activities that aggravate it, activiies that ease it,
    4. postural issues, range of motion, strength and other ortho testing

I would suggest a second opinion from another physio or perhaps a sports physician,

try rest and icing it down when it becomes a problem.

    all the best.

    Re: Patellar Tendinopathy

    Must have Kinesiology Taping DVD
I agree with the other 2 replies on all points.

If the Wikipedia reference-linkMRI was negative there is most likely another differential diagnosis (there are many many causes of pain at the front of the knee). You need further assessment through thorough history taking and an examination.

Who requested your MRI? Have you been back to see them and had your follow-up appointment?

    Good luck.
