Can someone please help me?
Hello,
Basically when i do the movement in the picture slowly the circled area on the top diagram shakes.
I have been getting wrist pain so wonder if this is causing it? Is it a muscle imbalance? I have spent quite a bit of time on a computer could this have caused it?
If I hold the circled muscle back towards my elbow it doesn't shake as much.
Here's the picture:
Thanks for any help at all!

despite aging n being anxious, active insufficient of wrist extensors, passive insufficient of wrist flexors, neurological lesion (brain o nerve lesion) may also lead to such circumstance.. perhaps, the pain u mentioned may b the cause s well..
assumed, the pain is causing u to have difficulty in initial to extend ur wrist s u said (may due to trauma), after recovered, wrist extensors will become weak (muscle imbalance) compared wrist flexors.. in this case, u may need strengthening exercise to wrist extensors n stretching of wrist flexors if passive insufficient of wrist flexors is indicated.
MAY you have a medial epechondylitis " may the techniqnic of hold relax is very effective......give you a breaks will u are on computer and make stetching exercisrexs

dear Peter,
I agree with junior-physio that if you are using the computer (or gaming) a lot, you need to take breaks and stretch and you will need to
keep doing so for the rest of your life. Everybody should be doing this, but they aren't and lots of people develop different problems in
the long run. After about half an hour, all it takes is 1 or 2 minutes of either doing some stretching, or standing up, walking around and
generally doing something physical.
As you can see I am an old bird and am used to working/using the computer about 6 hours a day. I do the very same and I must admit,
I sometimes forget when I am concentrating on my work... but because I know how important it is, I do get up and walk around a lot.
It can even make people think you are a restless type but you are actually looking after yourself by doing so.
Try to make this into a habit.
Good luck
Esther
re: the pain and discomfort: Esther is giving good advice here. Aches and pains are common following prolonged computer work and it is unlikely to be true epcondyiitis. However the problem can escalate out of hand and relatively simple measure like Esther is suggesting can often nip the problem in the bud. You could also register and and have a look at this website that is run by the National injury insurance scheme in NZ. The author is a physio and and ergonomist:

RE: the shaking. This may not be anything to worry about. the contraction you are doing is called an eccentric contraction so when you lower your hand against gravity the muscles that normally lift your hand in the upper side of the forearm are working. It is common for some people to have a shake in these muscles both at the forearm and the calf muscles at the ankle when performing eccentric contractions. It can be worse if the muscles are tight or overused and fatigued but it usually is just a funny artifact of a normally working nervous system. You can often learn to suppress the shake by concentrating on improving the smoothness of the movement as an exercise but there really is no need to do this. As long as it isn't interfering with your and and finger control I wouldn't be concerned.
Thanks for very good advice, it works. But I still need some immediate medicine in case of emergency, any body can suggest a good medicine?
