    spasticity release

    Taping
    Hi
    I have heard that there is a method to release spasticity by giving electrotherapy. But we have learn that it cause to worse spasticity. As a PT student i want to know & practice the effective way. can anyone explain

    What do you mean by spasticity release??
    Where did you hear that spasticity can be released? Do you mean relieved?

    Spasticity cannot be reduced with exercises, only with medication and that doesn't actually reduce the disorder itself either. I can recommend googling stroke, spasticity, Botox and therapy for more information on treating stroke patients.

    The article you describe is somewhat outdated. It was published in 1994. So much has happenend since.
    I also suggest you read all the relevant posts here on this forum. A lot has already been written on the subject.
