    Re: Retrain as an osteopath

Hi All, thanks for the comments and I welcome input by Osteopaths on this forum. I think however a discussion about the rational behind craniosacral therapy is best kept to an entirely separate post. It would be wrong to describe Osteopathy as quackery. We do know that many techniques demonstrate clinical effectiveness and that many professionals use the same techniques under different guises and based on different rationales. I am a supported of EBP but am also a harsh critic that it is based on pretty poor science and looks at what is the best average thing to do rather than looking at the skills of an individual therapist working with a uniquely individual client.Again this is a totally separate discussion.

I tend to agree that Shanaz has opened it up for discussion but that Ginger has an axe to grind here. Not sure why CST was pulled out as an example here, maybe for the reasons gcoe has pointed out. I think that we should leave this one for now as it is not a discussion about the clinical effectiveness of CST it was a post about adding more education to your physiotherapy degree by learning what osteopathy has to offer. I know many such clinicians and it is a valuable combination.

P.S. gcoe is right in that Physiobob.com is the best place to advertise this course.
