    Physiotherapy-good option?

    Taping
Hello, everyone! I don’t plan to make the post so long.
I met with an accident 3 months ago while I was traveling with my husband. And that was the worst thing ever happened in my life...
A car slammed our motorbike from behind and I saw Joe (my husband) flying .. I was thrown into some bushes and hence I had fewer injuries.Bike went to a different spot and the situation was very scary as Joe got his knees ,shoulder and chest hurt. I was actually mentally numb on seeing this. A man ( such a kind person..but I didn’t get a chance to even ask his name) rushed us to the hospital nearby and we got proper medical care.

Joe’s wounds were dressed and he was prescribed with some kind of tablets. I was just given an ointment and even that wasn’t needed for me. At that time ,all I wanted was to get Joe free from his pain.

With regular treatments, he has been gradually recovering from his wounds, but the thing which makes me worried is that he can’t move his shoulders freely. He strains a lot to move his shoulders. He had tablets for the same and tried ointments too.
But still, he tells that he can’t move his shoulders with ease. He can’t do any heavy works because of this. Even cannot lift a chair without strain. This is really affecting our personal life also. He is getting angry at times when he feels the strain and this is spoiling my inner peace. A friend of mine suggested about the benefits of physiotherapy. But I have never heard stories from anyone regarding this. But still, I am looking for the best treatments for Joe. I am planning to fix an appointment with the Physiomobility at Toronto.
( Physiotherapy Treatment & Rehabilitation Centre Toronto | Physiomobility ). Has anyone got alternate suggestions? Or do anyone have such success stories on physiotherapy ?Please share...It would mean a lot to me!

    Hi,

    I'd suggest looking at patientslikeme.com

Type in "shoulder". There are a lot of responses from people with all kinds of shoulder problems.

Re: physio - if Joe has had scans and xrays to make sure there are no tendon or muscle injuries, I think physio is worth trying. Cant comment on the specific clinic unfortunately.

Hi Alicia - so sorry about your accident and the trauma both you and Joe suffered (and are still suffering from). Joe will probaby benefit from PT, but also needs to have investigations done of his shoulder/s - has he had xray's/ultrasound at least? Depending on how he landed, it could just be bruising/swelling, or some structures may be damaged/torn. Shoulders are tricky joints - often painful, slow to heal from trauma. He needs someone to check out thoroughly what is going on, considering he has probably had signifcant forces applied to his body during the accident. Often many injuries are missed at an Emergency Room. As someone in his shoes, I would be getting screened for bony/tendon damage - and if that is all clear - I would be heading to the PT for gentle treatment and shoulder rehab.

    Must have Kinesiology Taping DVD
When I got injured in my boating accident last year, I couldn't work for months. Thankfully the people at Oatley Vigmond Law Frim helped me get the care I needed and the compensation I deserved!
