Hi.

A 75 yr old gentleman with mild to moderate Alzheimer's, previous history of bypass (2005) and longstanding spinal degeneration complains of nagging cervical and lumbar pain, stiffness and limited ROM. I mentioned longstanding as due to his workoholic lifestyle patient has overlooked his spinal care needs. He has had few episodes of slipped disc in the earlier years which were managed conservatively. Currently he presents with mid thoracic scoliosis and adapted unilateral shoulder elevation.

I would do grade 3 mobs in sitting as during assessment the patient seemed to tolerate it. However its of some concern to me if cervical mobs may potentially trigger any blood clot dislodging if any. Considering his age, medications that include blood thinners and mri showing cerebral atrophy. If yes, could I address it differently please? thank you

Sharmila
