Evidence based practice is only as good as the research that it is based on. Unfortunately there is not enough research (not an excuse but it is simply a fact), there is a lot of poor research and there is a huge amount of poor conclusion based on quite good data.

The concept is a good one for furthering the profession. However it would not stand up at present to what we need to have any decisions based on. Perhaps it's best use is to rule out things, rather than vica versa? 8o
