How about the common misconception that a neural tension technique such as the straight leg raise (SLR) is in fact a hamstring stretching technique. This is so widely printed in books and posters and taught on courses that a great unjustice is being commited.
Why not take a survey of books, posters, interview PT's, Sports trainers, GP's, Chiro's, Ostoe's etc and see who actually stretches and teaches a hamstring stretch. Very FEW!!!!!!
No wonder all the UK footballers return to the field after a hamstring tear only to reinjure themselves on their first stride down the side line! :-)
