    Smile greater tuberosity fracture

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
    hi all
    i am treating a patient with avulsion fracture of greater tuberosity,3 wk old.i started with scapula mobilization
    passive oscillatory movements to G-H joint
    self assisted exercise for improving flexion and external rotation
    pendular movements

    if any one knows any recent rehahilitation protocol for the same please let me know

    wow -good luck with that.

    I usually just ring the shoulder specilaist and ask "whaddya want with this patient"!!

    Usually he leaves them in a sling for 6 weeks anyway (he is conservative but very good). Then i get to do normal rehab stuff.

    that would be a great management but don't forget the unaffected side since our goal here is for independent. Strengthen also the unaffected side..

    hi friend
    thanks for the replies.
    it was a type 1 non displaced fracture.so the orthopaedic surgeon suggested only 3 weeks of immobilization in sling.
    now the range improved and we are continuing with self assisted exercise olt.now its the post injury 5th week .
    flexion is around 120 degree
    abduction in scapula plane- assisted-150 degree
    assisted external rotation -30 degree
    started with scapula stabilization exercise.
    low load isometrics to shoulder musculature

    suggestions are appreciated
