Thumbs up Re: Major pain in calf - no diagnosis from hospital!

You sure need to be assessed in detail as soon as possible to reach a diagnoses.

    All the best

Re: Major pain in calf - no diagnosis from hospital!

    Hi there,

have you managed to see anyone and get a useful diagnosis yet?

It sounds very much to me like you have done a fairly decent tear / rupture of you gastrocnemius (one of you rcalf muscles)
The symptoms you describe fit, and the feeling of something falling and hitting it is something we hear often with calf or achilles injuries.

If you haven't seen a physio yet you should try and see one. Assuming it isn't completely ruptured you want to gradually start working towards regaining full movement, start massaging the leg to help reduce swelling, compression and elevation would also help.

Re: Major pain in calf - no diagnosis from hospital!

:O a definitive cause of symptom onset, physcial symptom and signs and all they wanted to know is if u would get a blood clot?

    Agree with the post above.
