Brief Medical History Overview
painful knees after running
I'm already pretty fit, but have just started interval training on a treadmill and have never run before. For two weeks, four times a week I've been on the treadmill for 30 mins alternating between 2 mins slow walking and 2 mins running at a fairly slow pace. This is currently week 3 and I've got constant pain on the inner part of both knees. The pain is slightly worse on the right leg and I have throbing knees even when resting. The pain isn't around the knee itself it's towards the bottom of the knee on the inside of my leg. It's very tender to touch and extremely painful if i try to twist my leg at all e.g getting in and out of the car. I've stopped training this week as it's even a problem just to walk around at the moment. I've had the pain for almost a week and it's not improving despite ice packs and painkillers.
Does this make any sense to anyone at all?? Thanks
